Dr. Nabil El-Kot is a Consultant Psychiatrist with over 34 years of experience in psychiatry, psychotherapy, marital therapy, and sexual medicine.
He holds a Master’s in Psychiatry and Neurology, a PhD in Medical Studies for Children and Adolescents, and is certified by the European Board of Sexual Medicine and the American Association for Group Psychotherapy.
He served as a psychological consultant for the UNDP from 2005 to 2011 and with the UNHCR in Syria in 2011-2012. Dr. El-Kot has worked as a consultant, trainer, and program developer for various international organizations, including UNICEF and the International Family Organization.
In 2017, he was a visitor researcher at the Free University of Berlin. He is a board member of the Egyptian Association for Group Therapies and the Evolutionary Psychiatry Association and is a member of the American Group Psychotherapy Association, the International Association for Group Psychotherapy, and the International Society of Sexual Medicine.
He has actively participated in numerous national and international conferences. Additionally, Dr. El-Kott has supervised and acted in several TV series, including “Under Control,” “Free Fall,” and “60 Minutes,” and has contributed to series like “Above Suspicion” and the film “White Ibrahim.”
He has published articles in various media outlets and authored the book “Tales of Fatigue and Healing” in 2020. He also reviewed and introduced “Hold Me Tight” on marital relationships and has an upcoming book titled “The Psychological World of Women.” Currently, he is the founder and director of the Shams Center for Psychological Counseling in Downtown and New Nozha.
